TPG Telecom reports revenue and EBITDA increases for H1 2023 (24 Aug 2023)

TPG Telecom's revenue increased by 4.5% year-on-year to AUD2.288 billion, and EBITDA increased by 12.4% year-on-year to AUD941 million. Net profit decreased to AUD48 million, from AUD167 million in the same period last year. This was due to increased net financing costs resulting from higher market interest rates on bank debt. TPG Telecom's mobile subscription base increased to 5.320 million at 30 June 2023. The company has also upgraded more than half of its mobile sites to 5G.

Telstra and Ericsson test VoNR with RedCap solution (21 Aug 2023)

Telstra and Ericsson have tested VoNR with RedCap solution. VoNR is Voice over New Radio, and it is a new technology that enables voice calls to be made over 5G networks. RedCap is a solution from Ericsson that helps to improve the performance of VoNR calls. This is the first implementation of VoNR in Australia, and it will enable new service capabilities such as longer battery life and AR/VR functionality.
